License plate locations in different states with TC mounted

Is there a site that would explain if and when License plates are required in different states. Does the TC need it own registration, does it use the truck's plate? Does the truck's license plat...

Here in Ca. You don't register the camper.
But, every camper comes with a license holder attached under the left or right tail light!
If the LEO'S can't see the plate, you better put the plate on the camper!
I drove a one ton truck with a 11 1/2 ' camper & I changed the plate every time I took the camper off!
