I have been using a NovaKool fridge for 2 years now and I am very happy with it.
I also have an Engel cooler for beer so I am running 2 electric fridges off of my 400W of solar and 320Ah of battery. I have run short after about 2 weeks of mostly cloudy and camping under trees in 2014. This year I had to use electric hookups a few times in Alaska to run an electric heater (Alaska is just too cold for this desert rat!) and the rest of the time I was travelling a lot so I never ran short.
The NovaKool regulates very well, better than the fridge at home. The OEM fridge was a mechanical unit (no control board) and regulated very poorly - to the point that I lost food a few times the 1 summer I used it. It also used a lot of propane.
The unit in my former 5th wheel had a control board and worked well as long as it was carefully levelled.
I will never go back!
