Light weight bunkhouse options

We are looking for a bunkhouse that has two full size bunks, twin above and full size below, or possibly three stacked bunks (only if that bottom bunk is not flesh with the floor).

Ideally we would like no more than 28ft (less is more to us), a slide (doesn't have to be the huge one, just enough to add a little more space), couch (prefer, but not a deal breaker). Hitch weight no more than 550-600.

Here are the ones we have checked out so far:
Passport
Amerilite
Gulf Breeze
Flagstaff super lite
Forest River surveyor
Coachmen Catalina
Heartland North Trail
Keystone Bullet

Know of any others that we aren't finding?

Thank you!!
  • Lance 2185 has 3 bunks, but bottom bunk is flush with floor. It has a slideout and is lightweight
  • I am on same hunt. I am looking at keystone passport 2650,bullet,272bhs,kodiak 255bhs, and aero lite x282bhs.

My only other requirement is must have a slide out.
  • We have had a Ameri-lite bunk house for three years without issues. It's not fancy but it is well built and handles the rough roads we take it on.
  • We just purchased a KZ Sportsman Show Stopper
S242SBHSS, this fits your requirements also. It does not have a couch, but does have small U dinette slide, either double over double or single over double bunks, 26'9" total length and my unloaded hitch weight per factory sticker is 515 lbs. We have only had it out for 4 days, but very comfortable for the 4 of us.
  • I think MikeE might be onto a winner. Certainly looks like it fits your requirements. Like the larger u-shaped dinette. Bunks have a nice arrangement that I haven't seen before. Acceptable kitchen. Pretty standard bathroom. I like it, and it leaves you some wiggle room with your numbers.

My cousin and DH had a KZ for about 10 years and other than routine maint, no problems or issues. They build a nice unit. Happy shopping!
  • The KZ Sportsmen S260BH has tri-bunks, but is at the upper limits that you list. We love our KZ
  • We had a Salem 26TBUD with triple bunks. The lowest bunk was about 2" off the floor, and not sure if you'd find a triple that wasn't like that or with the bunk right on the floor.

    Except for this:

Had a KZ as our first trailer, and it was well put together.

    All the best,
    Mike
