Limited power

Hi. I've never been part of a forum before, but I was hoping for some suggestions. We tripped the circuit breaker on our Terry Taurus (1994 I think) yesterday: too many things going at once. I reset the switch at the power pedestal, and the box in the trailer. Some things regained power, but others didn't. We have some lights, some outlets, and the microwave, but the fridge & the a/c have no power, and most of the lights aren't working. Any suggestions? Is there another reset switch?
  • Those things you mentioned need 12 vdc to run. Would make sure your converter and batteries are
    working and good.
  • Moderator notified.

To the original poster: there are multiple separate sections to this forum, as with most such forums. You posted to a section for messages on the topic of issues with the forum itself, rather than one of the areas dealing with questions about your RV. By doing so, you decrease the odds of getting a helpful response. I've notified a moderator to move your message, but it is better if you make the post in a more appropriate section yourself.
  • The trailer has always been on a permanent site at a campground. We have always been hooked up to the shore line. We've never used the battery. Any idea where the converter would be located?
  • What link did you click to end up here? The one in the upper-right?
  • Turn off every circuit breaker, including the main in the panel in the trailer and the pedestal outside.
    Then in this order:
    1. Turn on the breaker on the outside pedestal.
    2. Turn on the main breaker inside the trailer.
    3. Turn on the remaining breakers one at a time.

You most likely have 30 amp service which is limiting. The A/C consumes most of the available power. Running other things like the microwave, electric water heater, hair dryer, even the refrigerator can overload the circuit.
  • Thank you for the steps. I wanted to make sure I did it in the correct order. We have done this process about 10 times in the past 24 hours. I know there is a circuit protector, and a delay, so we gave it some time, but it's still not working. The circuit breaker and fuse box are together under the bed. I don't see another box, except one that is silver, about the size of an electrical outlet but about 4 inches deep. I can't see clearly, but it looks like the place where the little wires connect to the 30 amp cord. I didn't see any place where it could have a reset button on the silver box.
