Very common issue with rigs from a few years back. Lino in our rigs is the same as in houses that have steady temps. The thermal changes from night to day are too severe and the material expands and contracts at differing rates. In rv's the lino needs to be fully glued down but is instead perimeter glued allowing the expand/stretch issue to cause tears. Either replace the lino or ensure whatever you use has clearance for the slide. BTW if one area ripped....other areas that did not rip may do so next winter so consider a full reno while your at it.
