As usual, it depends. Most wiring for house batteries on towable RV's is small--that would limit the flow of current, thus protecting the alternator.
It is probably best to use a dc to DC charger for two reasons.
1. to raise the voltage to what the Li really wants.
2. to prevent too many amps from being drawn from the alternator.
My own alternator is a 2/3 1/3 duty cycle. So in an hour, full output for 20 minutes. I have seen over 70 amps going to flooded house batteries. I do have manual control of the charging in addition to relays. I am adding a dc to DC charger which will boost voltage and limit current.
