- Shadow_CatcherExplorerThose of us in the teardrop community refer to them as crouchies, they are what they are and long term owners like them, another possibility is an RPod
- Yeti_plusExplorerWe rented one 12 or 13 years ago. We thought they were a great idea. Glad we didn't buy one!
I'm about 5'10" and I couldn't stand up in it. We had to take turns standing to get dressed. In those days there was no toilet facility onboard, so a trip to the washroom or outhouse in the middle of the night.
It really is basically a queen sized bed on wheels. Dry when raining and ready to go as soon as you pull into campsite, but too short height wise for us. - bgumExplorerWell they are up off the ground and out of the mud if it rains. They have a indoor heater, a water heater, a shower , toilet , AC, indoor stove and frig. They can be pulled by anything that can tow 1800 lbs. require no sway control and no weight distribution. At 15 ft they can get into any camping spot. They do appear expensive but quality comes at a price. These are the points that I am considering now.
- LwiddisExplorer III agree with Redwood. I don't see the point.
- RedwoodcamperExplorerI don't really see the point of them personally. Just pitch a big tent. But they fit some people's needs. If the prices were more related to the small size then I would understand them better. You can get so much more for the money than they charge.
- BumpyroadExplorerI have seen them with a wet bath and inside kitchen and it seemed rather decent. IIRC it had some type of black tank. had some "weird" kind of heat however, not sure how it worked.
bumpy - profdant139Explorer IIMy father in law had one for several years -- great to tow, good quality, but (of course) no bathroom and an outside kitchen, which was a hassle in bad weather. If you will always have access to a nearby bathroom (even in the middle of the night), and you don't plan to cook in bad weather, the T@b may be a good alternative, especially if your tow vehicle is small.
