On the day before departure, DH moves the 5er into the driveway and parks within 20 ft of back porch steps. I have soft bins I use to pack some of our smaller clothing items which I put on the closet shelf in the house when we return from a trip. These are re-packed and carried out filled. Hanging clothes - I just carry on the hangers. The food items are loaded into a large basket with handle and I make quite a few trips back and forth with that. I, too, leave very little in the 5er when it's parked in the yard. After 47 years of camping, I really have not come across an easy way.
