You guys can hate if you want but the truck is very capable for medium size trailers and small fifth wheels. It's not going to take the place of current 3/4 tons from the big three and it's not rated to. It targets those that need just a bit more than a 1/2 ton. It's hp/torque rating sits between the current 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks.
I don't know that anyone is "hating" the XD. I think that term is so stupid too, by the way. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean I hate it. I think must of us are confused about the market and the appeal of this truck.
Sounds like you got a good deal and like your truck and are using it within your specs, good for you. I used to have a Tundra and LOVED that truck even though it was generally not liked on these forums. Once I outgrew the limits of the Tundra, I moved up to a heavier duty Ram pickup.
The cheapest that I have seen an XD around me is advertised for $38,939 and that price includes a $1000 Nissan Graduate Cash discount that isn't applicable to me. That makes the truck closer to $40 grand. For that money, I can buy a Ram 2500 with the bigger, more powerful and more fuel efficient Cummins, more available payload and heavier components.
