Look Ma, no Jacks !!

Nifty, It sounds like you need some kind of camper guides to keep your camper centered. Do a search on camper guides on here you will find a whole world of wonderful contraptions to keep the box in the center. I have the Lance guides but there are much better, homemade ones by our forum members. Once installed, your shifting worries are a thing of the past. Hence, no need for jacks.
On a previous trip with my bro and his 1999, F250, ZF6, 4X4, IH 7.3 diesel, OUTFITTER! his tie downs came loose and the OUTFITTER! shifted all the way to the drivers side. He does not have guides. We used my 15K pound winch in a parking lot using a couple 30K pound straps to pull the camper back to the center. It wasn't pretty but it worked. OBX, you have certainly participated on The Great TC Diet here. I like it. Simple. Trustworthy under any condition, especially off-road..
I have one further observation: what do people with a 24-30 foot class C do for service? The same thing I do with a jackless truck camper.

I forgot to mention the added benefit of better mirror vision, I don't even use the extensions anymore.

Offline that rig on the left looks like my rig. I'll check the garage. Took my manual jacks off soon after I got the rig. But some find them convenient to level the rig or stabilize. Others feel naked with out them. They can be a hazard and sometimes lead to OPPS. Recently the TC shifted in the bed and I had to install the jacks to shift it back. The hold down started to rub the side of the box. First time in 3 years.

I"ve been traveling with no jacks for 15 years. How soon you forget, I am the self proclaimed "King of the Jacks-Off". I leave the Jacks at home. Mine are manual mechanical/pinion style jacks and the quartet weighs about 145 pounds,plus 25 pounds for the dually extensions. Electric jacks may weigh more. I have never wished I had the jacks while on the road. I had an oil change in Fairbanks AK, and the place had tall enough ceilings to get our 10' 2" (at the time) tall TC in the bay. YMMV.

add weight to the TC, whether you have them on or carry them as a kind of belt and suspenders. I use some homemade structural, 8"W "C"channel dually extensions for the front jacks and they are HEAVY. No way I'm taking those on the road.
On paper there may be a very slight increase in aerodynamics if left off.
We remove only the jacks-leaving the angle iron lag bolted to the frame.
The only thing I can think of as a plus is if you have such a spongy suspension you need to lower them while in camp to keep the dreaded Campground Sway under control. O.K. I can see that. We don't have that problem.
If you have electric jacks hard wired into the TC you can cut the wires and add weather proof quick connector plugs. Let the female ends (connected to the TC) hang down when disconnected.
I had the TC on the truck when I replaced the front unit bearing and weak axle parts at my local axle guru's garage. He had only a 10 foot door opening so i suggested he lower the pressure on the tires to lower it a few inches. It worked, but that was a worst case scenario. Leave mine at home. Since it is a popup the few times I have needed service I found places that could do it without unloading.

We moved to a new state this summer and I left the jacks on for the move since they needed to go anyway. Really don't like them on, blocks my rear view as well as the width problem.

Take the two screws out of that tiny box, open it up and you'll find a connector. Unplug the connector and put the cover back on the box.

My F250 required the tongue jack be down on the connected trailer or the rear jacks be touching the ground to prevent suspension sway when camped. The 5500 does not need the jacks for stability due to the stiffer spring pack, but we still drop the TC when we want to travel around an area without the TC on the rear (mostly in the wet months when we don't bring along seasonal vehicles to use as transportation). Our next trip, we are leaving the trailer at home - We will either drop the TC at camp and use the truck solo or we will haul the TC to all our daily stops. Having the electric jacks mounted and ready makes it an easy decision either way. I think if I had to crank manual jacks, it would be a rare occasion when I would be removing the TC.

NICE fabrication!!! You made me rush right out to see if I had behind-the-seat storage. I don't; but I have under-the-seat storage for the jacks and in-front-of-the-wheelwell storage for the tripod feet. I guess I'll have to figure out if I'm willing to forego my "clothes drying rack" (horizontally-stored jacks) for the sleek looks?

Sounds like you have no spouse?
My previous RV was 15-tons bus and I always put blocks under rear suspension when air bags drop down.
Still 110lb wife would rock the coach, waking me up while going for night pee.
