Looking at high walls

Question

I finally decided it's time. Went and looked at a local dealer today and I must say, I'm not impressed with the quality now days. There were several areas where light was showing through(Flagstaff) around the slide out. Is this the normal quality? Was looking at using the pop up during hunting season, but not sure I could stay warm. We had a couple growing up we stayed, without slides, but I don't remember them like this. Also around the door, the tent didn't fit very good.

I talked with a salesperson, who said it more than likely just needed adjusting?
Thoughts? Am I being to picky or?

The 'quality' issue has been discussed for years. RV's are just not well made, as a generalization. You'll just have to pick a model that fits your needs/wants and kind of hold your nose.
Everyone has their opinions on what brand is the best, or better quality.
As far as staying warm in a popup, we've had no problem with that. The heater works just fine. If you have electric hookup, you can, of course, get a ceramic heater instead of burning propane.

I have a Flagstaff HW model, and for the most part we have been happy. There have been a few issues that we have had to deal with, but that appears to be pretty much standard with all makes/mfgs.

I guess my main issue was with the tenting and "gaps". It wasn't where the Velcro wasn't stuck together, but rather areas where you could see daylight around the slide out. Areas where bugs could enter, not that I'm afraid of them. I'm aware of the build quality now days. One trailer I was looking at, I could move the roof/tenting 6=8" in either direction

Take a look at slides in TTs and MHs. You'll see gaps there also. It's the nature of the beast.
