Looking at trucks

Because of the spark plug issue on my Ford. (They won't come out) So I've been looking at Chevys, and GMCs. I really like the looks of the GMC better. Any way. I go onto the lot, and just walk around looking. Man they are super expensive. I expected that. But they are plain inside. No floor shifter, no bucket seats, Tiny back seat. None of the bells, and whistles I'm use to in my 2004 Ford. No console just ugly, and crappy, inside. What's up with that?

I got to thinking. IF I'm going to pay that kind of money for a truck. I want it to be atleast as nice as my 10 year old Ford. They are not.:?

I recon I just do what is needed for the plugs, befoe I downgrade my comfort level.

  • I bought a 2012 Ram 3500 again because the looks, power, and interior are so nice. Actually, I have had 4 Rams. They are a great truck. Buy a diesel and never worry about spark plugs again or lack of torque and power.
  • The 2014 Silverados have just been introduced and they look pretty good. Many of the issues you mention have been addressed. Bring your checkbook. They aren't inexpensive.
  • When I was researching Chevy vs GMC, a GMC sales manager told me that GMC trucks are better because of the better insulation thus quieter, better suspension for ride and towing, and better interior. (I think he heard me laughing as I walked out...) bottom line, I'm very happy with my new Chevy 3500 HD diesel.
  • Last year I had the opportunity to test drive a Dodge, Chevy and Ford all were 3/4 ton and all were fully loaded models. The idea was an apples to apples comparison. Since these were the top of the line models with all of the bells and whistles the price tags were rather large but comparable between the 3.

I found the chevy to be the most comfortable interior and ride. The ford felt like it had the most power and the Dodge would have been my 3rd choice. It seem way down on power compared with the other two and rode rougher.

You won't believe how fast the high price will depreciate as the truck gets a few years old. If I was in the market I would look for a well cared for used truck a couple of years old.
