I too just bought a 2006 F350 6.0 with 224,000 miles. The purchase price was well under what I could get a GM diesel or gas model. I had the truck "Bulletproofed" and some other minor service work done. The truck is strong and I am confident it should last me a long time. According to the mechanic who did my work, the life of a diesel is scheduled maintenance, oil changes at 5,000 miles, regular filter changes, etc. Any used vehicle you buy can have problems sooner or later. Good Luck with your purchase.
