Not every 6.0 is bad. But your chances of owning one with problems are higher than any other motor of that era. And the real problem is the sensitivity to small problems that can quickly cascade into big problems and sideline a trip.
Even a "Bullet-proofed" 6.0 can be disabled easily, unless the "bulletproofing" job included new injectors, FICM, and engine wiring harness. Just addressing the EGR system only fixes one possible failure point.
