Even a "Bullet-proofed" 6.0 can be disabled easily, unless the "bulletproofing" job included new injectors, FICM, and engine wiring harness. Just addressing the EGR system only fixes one possible failure point.
I have been told by a friend who is a Ford diesel mechanic at a Ford dealer that different people have different opinions on what is included in bulletproofing a 6.0. He said it means different things to different people, regardless of what you might read on the internet.
He also told me that after working on them every day for many years, he speaks highly of the 7.3 and 6.7, somewhat highly of the 6.4, but dreads the 6.0.
If the term bullet proofing is used in the conversation consider it a deal breaker and buy something else that will not include the term bullet proofing in the conversation.
IF it has actually been bullet proofed or not is irrelevant.
The 6.0 PSD was and continues to be a a disaster.
You do not hear the term bullet proof being used with the other two brands.
