Then something is wrong with it. 24V's fire with a touch of the key when working correctly. It is hard to bump the starter without them firing off. Long cranks indicate a VP-44 or fuel supply issue.
Agreed..... He had the pump replaced last year but my gut feel is the pump is loosing prime
