Looking at used Ford F-350 high miles

I've never seen a Ford truck with a cummins conversion and I've seen a lot of them.

What I don't see anymore are the dodge 6.7 cummins Blue Tec badged trucks. :W

It really was fun to drive.

Driving a underpowered turd is not my idea of fun. I seen a many old restored Ford vehicle with a Chevy engine/tranny, but again never seen one with a cummins installed nor do I know anymore who has any ambition to install one either.

Speaking of underpowered I drove a coworkers Dodge 5.9 last Friday to try to help him with a starting issue and I didn't have the heart to tell him how terrible the power was, cracked dashboard, everything rattled in the dash, air leaks around the door seals his truck exhibited although it did have ~220k miles and last year replaced the injector pump. It surprisingly still had the original transmission.

Fish, good to see your are back to your old self!! I was worried when you stated you saw a Ford 6.0 on the back of a Flatbed tow truck.

I have no experience with any diesel, however I have read many negative posts about LLY Duramax engines as well as Cummins 5.9 engines. On the internet people tend to only post the negative. Again I have no knowledge of any of them. Just what I read.

Expand your view, the internet is full of companies that supply the parts for the conversion to a Fummins. They would not exist if there was not a market for their products.

I'm just wondering what happened to the OP?

The guy I bought my white 98 from did a Cummins BT4 conversion into his F150. It really was fun to drive. He had plans to really bump the power.

I've heard of gassers having issues due to ethanol based fuels eating fuel tank liners but have not heard of this being a problem in diesels or bio diesels.

I haven't heard of this with a 6.0, but it was a big problem with the 7.3L, because they tank liner used in the metal tank was not compatible at all with biofuels.

I think some of you hard core Ford haters must be political news writers for the media. If you don't know the truth you just make something up!:B
