Hello,We are looking to purchase our first travel trailer. We headed to our local RV dealership all full of excitement and were so disappointed to find that most lite travel trailers have an interior height of only 6'6" or less - my husband is 6'7" tall! Can anyone suggest a taller interior height travel trailer (i.e. 81+ inches tall). We also need bunk beds, a queen/king sized bed and would like the travel trailer to be as short as possible, preferably under 25 feet. The lighter the better as well, we're towing with a 1/2 ton SUV. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!Thanks,Jane

Less holding tanks, less propane, less cabinents, less carrying capacity, less fridge space, and less ceiling height etc. In addition most if not all light TTs do not have ducted air. This means that the AC unit hangs down from the already low ceiling. Many a bell has been rung by these units.Although there are high tech ways /materials to make TTs lighter, they are generally more expensive. In such a price competitive industry, few will go that route.Good luck in your search.

I'm only 6'3" and the only "RV" I have any actual head room is in larger size 5th wheels or Class A motorhomes.. The 5th wheels I have room in would not be towable with a "1/2 ton" truck... ;)RV "queen size beds" are usually shorter than normal queen size beds you find for your home, so be prepared for that too... My feet hang off the end of my "RV queen size bed"... But, I'm used to it and it's not a big deal for me..Since your hubby has been this tall for a long time, I'm sure he's used to having to adjust to lower height stuff, so it's just going to have to continue in an RV too... :)What you see is what you get, unless you custom build it.. ;)Good luck!Mitch

Consider the Jayco Sport 165. It has bunks and lower one allows you to hang your feet over end. The height in trailer is standard and I'm not sure what that figure is. It may be tight for 6'7"

Pretty easy to get 81" interior height and most showers have a domed skylight above so that helps with showering in a conventional TT. My Jayco Jayflights meet this...the eagles are even taller on the interior. The bed is going to be a much bigger challenge, RV queens are 60"x75" opposed to the standard 60x80.

We liked the Outback 210rs. Nice big bed in a slide and bunks in the front. The ceiling height seemed roomy.
