You didn't mention the weight of what you are towing, is it too heavy for the truck?
You don't really want to absorb heat, you want to dissipate it, which is why slotted rotors work much better. I went to a powerstop system. There is a significant improvement over the stock brakes. Put them on all axles for the best results.
