Rotors and Brake Pads

Just to give everybody a update I did the brake job yesterday and used NAPA parts.

My Workhorse dealer said the same thing when my rotors got several cracks. He used a different brand to replace mine.

The dimpled/slotted rotors are for heavy breaking applications, which I believe a MH is subjected too. They do not usually make your brakes any better but, they don't go away as quickly under heavy usage.

The warranty seems a bit better on the dimple/slotted rotor but I would still be inclined to just get the premium flat surfaced rotor.

Have the caliper slides been cleaned and lubricated recently? I had some cracking on the rotors from sticking calipers.

There was a problem on the WH brakes on the W-22 chassis. There was a recall because the composite caliper piston was swelling causing the calipers to stick overheating the brakes. You can call WH to see if the brakes were fixed with a metal piston. Your model year would be affected. Just changing the rotors and pads will not fix the problem.
