I just called my locksmith who knows what my ( and your, if you still have your Lance) tc handle looks like . Once the door is unlocked......
He suggested to drill a hole in the flat part of the door handle and install a long shank SS eye bolt. Then weld or bolt a crossbar thru the eye , so the cross bar extends to the left of the door handle, acting as a lever .
When you pull the crossbar lever to the right , it should open the door.
It would work like this:


It will offer the leverage you need , at the same time allowing you to use an elbow or forearm to move the crossbar to open the door.
The longer shank of the eye bolt will offer you the clearance you need to get your forearm between the bar and tc door. No hands needed.
place the threaded eye bolt into the handle.
