We like having the fridge in the slide because it gives more counter space. The tongue weight on our Spree is approaching 1,000 lbs.
Be wary of ultralites because they tend to build many of them the lightest, thinnest and least substantial way possible to save weight. Be especially wary of the frames on them as some have fabricated I-beams made from 3 pieces of steel welded together lengthwise which tend to have a LOT of flex in them and can cause all sorts of problems.
