Looking for model with rear kitchen

Hey all! We have a 2014 Amerilite 255BH. We bought the bunkhouse specifically because my mother was camping with us. She has passed away now, and I am going to trade for something with a rear kitchen. Any suggestions on the best model? We have a 2013 Ford 150 4 x 4 to pull with. Thanks!

  • I just bought a KZ Sportsmen 241RKS. It has a nice floor plan for two people.
  • The Keystone Cougar 24RKS has a nice rear kitchen. It should be half ton towable. Given my druthers, that is the one I would have chosen.
  • Have a Jayco 256RKS with the rear kitchen, all the dump valves are in the same location. I've been full timing in it for about 6 months now and would highly recommend. As you can from my signature I also have a F150 and have no problem pulling, have gone up and down many 7% grades. Any questions feel free to PM me
  • Stick with the ultra lite models. We have a Coleman Explorer 268RK model that we pull with our Silverado 1500 with no problems. Trailer weighs in at 6600 (+/-) lbs. loaded with everything we need for camping. The weigh tag on the unit says its 5738 lbs. empty. We love our rear kitchen and its floor plan, perfect for just the 2 of us. The only negative thing about it in my opinion is that it has a separate grey tank dump valve at the rear for the kitchen alone. The toilet and shower dump valve is up front, about 12 feet away from the kitchen tank valve so you either have to Y them together or dump them one at a time. Not such a big deal really but just a thing to know about the Coleman model.
  • Keystone Bullet has a model with a rear kitchen, Bullet 248 or something like that.
  • There is a nice Lance model. It's the 2285. I almost bought one myself!
  • Good question! I will have to ask the hubs LOL I know we don't have any problems with our Amerilite, but it only weighs about 5500 pounds.
  • Does your F150 have the 3.8 EcoBoost or one of the Ford V8's i.e. 6.2 or whatever? That will help determine the best trailer for you.
