We tow with a 6 cyl Tacoma - our trailer is a lot lighter, though, at about 2800 lbs. No problems, but you do know it's back there. At worst, you are 2000 lbs under the maximum tow rating for the Tacoma, so you should be all set. There is a very good post at TacomaWorld.com - the Tacoma Towing Bible. You should take the time to read it. One thing I learned there was not to tow in "D" - no overdrive. Use "4" instead. I also ended up purchasing an Ultragauge MX to keep an eye on miles/gallon, miles to empty, and transmission temperature. This is a great thing to have. www.Ultra-gauge.com
