I do post on some of the other forums on this site. There are definitely people who easily get butt-hurt. I don't see a lot of those types on the TC forum. I don't know if that is due to the moderation of this forum, or due to the type of person who is attracted to a TC. Either way, I am glad to virtually hang-out with y'all. And I appreciate the even-handed moderation BradW provides - THANK YOU!

Maybe that is only my impression, but trolling in this section went way down with last "change of power".
For me the hardcore trolling is having nothing to say on the subject and come with post "I don't like trolling here"
I was a member on this forum like 15 years ago and only handful of members from those times are still here.
Most of them made moderators....

To me, forums are living breathing things which can easily be smothered by a nit picking overbearing moderator. That is not a problem with our current mod or our previous mod Wayne. I have been the victim of a lousy moderator, they ain't one of them.

Another thing that can smother forums is when people are attacked or see others attacked or challenged on every single post, even when posting the most innocuous thing intended only to provide helpful information to others. Over time, many people become afraid to post or just get tired of arguing and defending when every statement is needlessly challenged. That to will kill forum participation. As someone else pointed out, just block them or ignore them, don't reward them with the attention they seek, don't feed the troll.

I don't do face book so mostly try and find forums that interest me, it seems like most forums go through cycles with a lot of people coming and going and a core of people that are fairly regular. It seems people get tired of the constant arguing some people can't help, we need to learn how to have a discussion again when we don't agree.

Some people just have a hard time treating others with respect. I joined in 2005 because I wanted a truck camper, because of events out of my control I still do not have one, but I try and help where I can as I have learned a lot on this site over the years.

I have a triple slide camper and I want to tow my 30' fishing boat and was wondering if my 1992 Datsun pick-up will handle that.

I am removing my furnace and going to heat using the stove top. Do I need a smoke detector or CO detector or am I okay without.
