Sounds like a bunch of whiners on here. If it's "within the rules"' then you should petition the campground to change their rules.
How should the rule change? Not all inverter types are whisper quiet at full load. Parallel two of anything at full load, say to run a 15k AC and they are no quieter than my yellow performing the same task. I think a 1kw or less inverter type for the sole purpose of battery charging would be the simple new rule.
I have the offensive Champ 3500/4000. It's not as loud as many other open frame units but I wouldn't take it to a camp ground unless it was a remote location. No other campers within 200 yds would be my rule.
