Ford has been building and installing engines in vehicles since 1908 (in house or contract) and this engine, (according to Bob Fascetti of Ford) had “the largest R/1000 rate
EVER experienced by Ford for an engine in widespread production.”
Out of the dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens of engine types ever produced by Ford or by a Ford Contractor, his was
THE WORST engine, EVER. (According to Bob Fascetti, director of V-engine and diesel engineering for Ford.)Chris Bolen, Ford's director of North American Powertrain Manufacturing wrote:

This guy had worked for Ford for 32 years (almost a 1/3 of Fords History) and he said “this was the worst negative feedback
EVER regarding one of Fords products.” (I guess it even beat out the Edsel) LOL
“Ford” make it pretty clear, but for those that still don't get it, I will paraphrase it for you: "Ford" said this was a POS engine. Great or even mediocre engines don't cost a thousand dollars in warranty work for every single engine made (mathematically) like this engine did.
