I have the Fantastic Fan and it works very well. Turn it on to high speed exhaust and slowly crank the top down with the rest of the camper closed up tight. Sucks the canvas in perfectly.
I recently installed a canoe rack on top and have to have the top at "half mast" for the installation. I made a chunk of rope with a loop on each end. Cranked the top to where I needed it and captured the crank handle with one loop, threaded the rope through the nearest frame pipe and re-captured the handle with the other loop. Fast and easy once you got the length right!!!!
But one more plug for the fan. On a hot sticky night close up the camper except for the window nearest you. Turn it to exhaust and it drags the fresh cool air right over you!!!!
