We have a 35' 5'er, but last weekend, the DH took the two DDs TENT CAMPING!! Of course, they had to go to the top of the mountain and it got down in the mid 30s at night.
I stayed home....that's why I bought the 5'er, to be comfy.
They stayed plenty warm with good sleeping bags, fleece pants and shirt and fluffy socks. They came home full of stories and smelling of a campfire. I'm glad they had fun.
HANDY HINT: I saw on Pinterest a hint about tent camping and staying warm. They suggested that if you had the rubberized, hook together tiles (usually with alphabets on them), that you used that as a tent carpet to protect against the cold ground. DH said it worked great for the ground cover and was also cushy.
