Ok, so I am looking at buying a dually pickup for personal use and from what I am reading in Ma. I will be required to get a commercial plate. possibly pay about $300 a year for the reg and then a DOT inspection? will I need to provide a medical card also? this will not be registered to a business, but to me personally.

The truck was registered for 14,000 GVW. The license plates were PERMANENT because the truck was more than 11 years old.I know, that information is totally useless to anyone who does not live in Montana. You may want to check with your State Police. They enforce the laws.If you call the DMV three times you may get three different answers, at least that has been my experience.Maybe MA has better informed employees.

I have a neighbor who is trooper and he couldn't accurately answer this, the DMV seems to have random answers. Sorry I don't need answers from people on the other side of the country nor do I need o know about what brand of truck I should buy.MA rmv referred me to the website, which is why my questions come up, according to their info even if I buy a 350 srw I will need a commercial plate since its gvwr is over 10k.This is why I ask if anyone from MA whom has a dually can give their experience.

I am sure it all depends on your Gross weight, I just got a new Ram 3500 Diesel here in Arkansas, it has a $25 tag and no inspection requirements here
