OP... I am curious.. Was it this one experience that caused you to trade? Because even with the new PSD you will find grades that you just can't run up at 70 mph.
After all, one of the posters on this thread just recently was Humbled on a hill.

Jeremiah - No, it wasn't just this one experience. I head for these hills frequently for hunting, fishing and camping excursions. The '04 Chevy had 135k miles on it, and working it that hard meant that sooner or later, it was destined for a break down.
I'm not looking to hit 70 on a steep grade, but would like to keep a reasonable pace.
The real deciding factor was that I'm taking early retirement (58), and my wife and I are going to hit the road quite a bit, so we wanted a comfortable, reliable and powerful tow vehicle.
