If you're a worry-wort, like me, or a cheap-skate, like me, diesel probably isn't for you. I had a F-250 with an early build 6.0. The problems were well documented, so you knew what was going to break ahead of time. When the high pressure oil pump went, right on cue, I'd had enough. I did all my own repairs, and that one was a real bear. I loved the power, but the cost of maintenance and parts, and how painful it was to work on, it pushed me over the edge. I couldn't justify the cost and worry for pulling my 24 foot travel trailer. Now with even more complex systems and having to worry about DEf and all the other stuff up the pipeline, I could't handle having a diesel. And with my current trailer, I don't need one.
