TPMS might be nice to have to tell you what the pressures are doing, but there is no substitution for a routine pre-trip inspection of your tires. TPMS isn't going to help if you have a great big bulge on the inside of your tire, that decides to blow at 65-70 on the Interstate.
I read a post awhile back, the guys TPMS said is tire was down a bit on air pressure, but "not enough to cause the blow out".
