Personal preference. My daily driver econobox car is a 5 speed stick. Driving it every single day in heavy Houston traffic is no problem. I would rather tell the vehicle what gear to be in. Unfortunately, sticks are not too common any more. My tow vehicle is an automatic obviously, but it would be a stick if that choice would have been available.
