it really is about individual preference. If you want a stick shift, go for it . It will certainly do the job for you.
The issues of being able to back up slow enough or travel in heavy traffic or stoplights at the top of a hill. are really non issues.
We have commuted in stop and go, bumper to bumper traffic.Also I have driven delivery vans and trucks and repair trucks in that kind of traffic with automatics and sticks and it included busy streets with steep hills. And I managed to do that for 15 years without knowing I couldn't do it.
And we have had no trouble driving our truck camper and horse trailer with stick shift thru big citys during max traffic times.And even were able to start out on hills. No problems other than the idiot drivers trying to move into your space.
If you what an automatic that's great, but it is not the only way you can tow and haul. Sticks can still tow and haul our RVs just fine.
