...first time in 60 years I have been accused of making a "fashion Statement"...I am not sure that calling the automatic guy's a "herd" is accurate... The tide has been changing for decades. It only happened because more and more manual owners were willing to drive automatics...and if they came with niceties...better yet...
The argument that only in the US is the manual basically dead makes the point. Manual buyers elsewhere in the world have continued to buy manuals in sufficient numbers to make continuing development economically feasible. They also do not have a market that remotely resembles the US HD pickup market.
