The 5.9L and NV5600 were a marriage made in heaven, I was told. My 2004.0 is as easy to drive with a manual as can be imagined.
Like others, time has marched on and the newer automatics are likely the better choice.
At 215k still on original clutch. One brake reline.
My combined rig stays between 17-18k.
Great fuel mileage solo or empty.
$500 in repairs thus far.
I still prefer the manual for towing. Easy to creep at slow speeds.
The work truck is an 18. Smoothbore tanker with 47k sloshing around.
Getting into the Dodge is like driving a sports car after that.
