I like the sound of the big inch ford. Apparently some of the members here haven't dealt much with big cubic inch motors. Just because it's big cubic inch, doesn't mean it can't pull. That motor likely makes more power at 2000rpm than the rest of us do at peak power.
Now, to the OP's question at hand: I would suggest to start attending rv shows. You will have a bunch of different makes and models on hands, and just about every floor plan you can think of. Get in, sit down. Is it a comfortable viewing angle for the TV? Imagine yourself doing every day chores. Do you want a washer/dryer in it? Do you fit in the shower?
Biggest issue I see winter up there. You definitely want an enclosed underbelly. Plan on using a lot of propane, or have some electric oil filled radiators. I HIGHLY recommend going with a 50amp model. 30 vs 50amp may not seem like a big deal, but a 50a model has 100a of campacity, vs a 30a model with only 30a capacity.
It is becoming more and more popular for TT to have a 50a option, I'd definitely go for that. Gives you more options. In the price range you are looking, though, you won't find a 50a model new.
I also recommend you go used. Craigslist is a great resource. Going used means if you get one and you hate the layout, you can sell and buy again without much of a financial penalty. Also means you can get a bigger/more quality trailer than if buying new.
Good luck in your search, let's see a pic of the truck! :-)
