My cousin runs bias ply tires on his 24' travel trailer. Following him up I-75 last week, I got a good example why. His left rear tire disintegrated while running 65mph. No damage done to the trailer. Chunks started flying and the tread rolled off into the median. One a previous trip a few years ago, he lost a radial and it even tore out the shelves under the sink with the steel belts slapping. I've noticed U-Haul has gone back to bias ply trailer tires as well.
