Actually, that isn't happening.
What is happening, is they are saying the 150 can't tow, not that it can tow well, but the 250 can tow the same load even better.
They are not saying the 150 can tow so and so weight and length trailer well and it is within ratings, but you can improve your towing with these enhancements, such as stiffer TV and HD trailer tires, better brakes pads/rotors, better shocks, etc.
They are saying you can't tow that trailer, even when within ratings, and you can't stop, you are going to have the tail wag the dog, you are going to be unsafe, and to resolve that, just get a bigger truck.
They don't bother even acknowledging whether the 150 can even tow the trailer safely, but just you can't tow it, and you need a bigger truck.
A lot of guys can't grasp or understand that there are actual people who don't want a biggest possible truck, and towing safely doesn't start at the biggest possible truck on the market.
Listen to how they keep mentioning how close the 150 is to a 250 in price...they are clueless as to why people just don't want a huge truck.
