As mentioned previously, the payload rating does very little to increase TV towing stability. Wheelbase, mass, and tire cornering stiffness are the three largest contributors on the TV side. This why so many trucks of all classes do indeed tow well above they’re GVWR. The PSD F250 is the perfect example. It has all the characteristics to make it a good choice regardless of payload rating. Should you care to do the math the F250 has a 15-20 mph higher point of critical speed than any F150 and including the hdpp of the same basic cab configuration.
