I'm going to buy a new 5th wheel this spring and I know I must upgrade my truck also. I like the Excel 37IKE but it has a GVW of 18,700 and I hate DRW trucks. Is there any make of SRW that would safely handle this trailer?

Not that I'm aware of. I think you are in dually territory unfortunately.

NO!!!!Your limiting factor is going to be tire capacity. Even the newest SRW trucks are going to have tires with load ratings of probably no more than 3500 pounds. That fiver is likely going to have a pin weight around 4000 or more pounds. Hate a dually? Get a much smaller trailer.

You may even be pushing MDT area.

Your are looking at well over 3000 lbs of pin weight alone. That is going to take a serious truck with serious payload...dually for sure.

The new ram SRW 3500 crew cab long box 4X4 Laramie diesel with the 68rfe has a 4530lb payload, same truck with the Aisin has 4370lbs.
