Maximum Slide Weight

My trailer has a rear bedroom with slide. The bed is attached to the slide so every time we setup the bed moves about 30". The trailer has the typical underbed storage. I have yet to find a weight limit posted anywhere for the slide. I would like to store guns and ammo under my bed so I can keep it protected and hidden and this is one of the best locations in the trailer to do so. I anticipate having about 500 lbs of stuff under there.

    Wow are you expecting trouble in a campground? Now I know why park rangers seldom knock on doors at night anymore to collect.

    Joking aside, It is probably best to keep weight in slides as low as possible. Just seems to be common sense.

    Heck, load it up and try it. If it fails, just shoot it and get another one!

    That's not just guns and ammo, it's other stuff too. My buddy has a 5th wheel and regularly traveled it 500-700 lbs of guns and ammo.

    Our bedroom slide under bed storage was FULL
    Side by Side 12 ga. Coach-gun
    8mm Mauser
    RUGER Mini 14 Ranch
    .44/.357/.22 cal pistols
    Ammo can full of cartridges for each weapon
    Cleaning kit
    Gun maintenance kit
    Ranch box
    PLUS all of my GFs stuff that she could put in there
    Add my weight (285#) and GFs......(not that stupid :B )

    A heck of a lot of weight on that bedroom slide

    Dude ammo is heavy! It adds up quick. 100 rounds of 9mm is about 3 pounds and that's like an hours worth of practice. Like wise a 100 rounds of 45 ACP is almost 5 pounds. 100 rounds of 12 gage is around 10#. That 18# listed is just a fun day at the range. A 12 gage shotgun is around 8 or so pounds. A 1911 pistol is around 2.5#.

    It adds up fast but I can see 150-200# of guns and ammo unless you have the safe or gun vault in there to, than I can easily see the 500#.

    Suggest you contact the manufacturer for exact numbers. Just to clarify....are you saying you'll be carrying 500# of guns and ammo????????
