My maxtrax are black. The color doesn't matter much but when you send them shooting under snow having a 6 foot ribbon lanyard makes them a heck of a lot easier to find..DAMHIK :)
The "type of plastic" used in the maxtrax is supposed to be better than the knock offs... no idea if that is b.s. or not.
If you spin your tires you'll melt the teeth off of any of them.
They're supposed to be UV stable (I live at 8000ft - lots of UV up here).
I did have a buddy snap a genuine maxtrax and they replaced it no questions asked.
