That fuel system is complex enough I would not trust anybody but a Ford dealer at this point (any not even all of them). The training required to be fully qualified would be well outside most independent shop owners would be willing to go for, at least until more of the trucks go out of warranty. Plus, many of the parts will have to come from Ford anyways, and you could end up laying more as the ind. shop marks up their dealer cost.
As for your vacation.... Give Enterprise Rent-A-Truck a call! They will rent you a fitch-wheel equipped pickup, probably nearly identical to your truck. Rates aren't bad, and you could keep your vacation plans. If Enterprise is out, there's also Penske and United Rentals.
