Not wanting to do anything else, I drove to the local Ford dealer who has one of the best diesel guys I've ever known. I explained the situation to him and he said there is little that can be done now. It needs a complete fuel system tear down and rebuild. He said that lately, it's been running around $14K for this error.
So, the tow truck is on the way, and I'll be counting my pennies to pay for it. I just retired in January, so this is one heck of a way to start things off.
DANG!
At this point...honestly, I would fix it, then immediately dump the truck.
