One of my best buds had a similar situation happen to him. The DEALER had a tech mistakenly fill the diesel tank with DEF. They never started the truck before catching it. Not exactly sure what they did to fix it, but that was 35K+ miles ago and he has had zero issues.
He was certain to be sure they documented it all fully on his ESP in the event this came back and bit him in the future.
I felt that sinking gut wrenching feeling just reading this post. Full marks for sharing this story. Sounds like you did everything right get this sorted out. What a nightmare!
