I've always felt that Ford's water separation was a weak point. I think this is where RAM has an advantage with 2 filters that both filter down to 3 microns and both have WIF sensors and are both drainable and hold some amount of water: Cummins Filtration
They used a standardized SAE test procedure to show the ability for the filters to demulsify in this vid. This is really the last thing that Ford would need to do to do a better job of safeguarding their motor me thinks.
It is my understanding that these are 10 micron units though? And that the lower filter that's drainable is the 1st filter in a series of 2? I just don't see why they didn't make it so that you can drain front filter as well since you have 2 chances to catch the water, or do they assume filter changes at that point?
