My view seems to be different that some.
I don't want an uninvited visitor to just show up.
I don't want to be on a list of any sort that gives personal information.
That said.
I would like a pm from any and all of you if you are going to be in the east TN area. That gives me an opportunity to invite you to meet somewhere, to come by, to park overnight, or just give local information.
If I see in your truck camper forum posts that you are in our general area I'd like to be able to pm you with an invitation or to exchange phone numbers.
In the past our experences include:
Many people that I've met on the forum have been at our house to visit or to modify or repair their truck campers, or even their trucks.
We have found that when I post our location as a footnote on my TC forum posts we'll get information or invitations from other members. It is their choice... and if we are going to be in their area we have choice to accept.
We have visited or been guests of many of you. But only by invitation.
Bottom line... I don't want to be on a list where we have "strangers" showing up because they found a list saying it would be OK! Nothing could make my day like having one of the nations homeless living in an old class A plugged into our 30amp recepticle in our driveway... with no where to go. And the only way that we found out was our neighbor phoned us while we were traveling in beautiful Montana. What now?
