This had to be in '69. I was 16 & the oldest of 5 kids. Dad borrowed a pop-up and dad, mom & me tag-team drove from Buffalo to Florida over Christmas break. The tv was a 9-passenger Pontiac Catalina wagon - full size, where you fold the back 2 seats down, load a 4'X8' sheet of plywood between the wheel wells, and closed the tailgate!
After the first night middle DB & I slept in the car with the seats folded down. 7 people in a pop-up was tight.
We drove on Daytona beach and did a tour of Cape Canaveral. There's a picture of my dad with his arm outstretched on the track of the rocket transporter (can't do that today!)
